Sleep deprivation is NOT a mandatory part of parenting and it is normal for your child to want to be close to you! When babies are born, all they know is you and each step or movement that was made while they were in the womb, rocked them to sleep! So of course they seek the same comfort now and it does not mean that you have done anything wrong. You are doing an amazing job!
As a mom to my own little boy, I LOVED rocking him to sleep each night, but I knew it wasn't sustainable for the long term. I dove deep into learning all things baby sleep to help my own family and loved it so much I ended up becoming a certified sleep consultant so I can help others regain back their sleepless nights as well. My son is now an excellent sleeper, but I still do rock him from time to time. I do not believe "sleep training" needs to be all or nothing! Our babies are only small for a little while so lets love on them as much as possible while also teaching them the skill of independent sleep! Together we will use gentle, response based techniques so you can feel confident that you aren't leaving your child to "cry it out" until they fall asleep from exhaustion. There is a gentler way, and I'm here to support you through it!
